Having set myself a challenge to get fit and shed a few pounds in the process, this book has been an excellent read in preparing me both mentally and physically.
I have not heard of the authors prior to reading this book so it was reassuring to learn of their backgrounds. Through personal experience and with professionals at all levels, they have brought together a book in which shows you how you can achieve more if you have the right mind training.
The book is split into ten chapters and each is covered by a professional who gives a summary of their journey to success, focusing on different areas of the mind and body that can affect performance. Each section ends with time to reflect and put into place an action plan. This is a useful tool and you can write down what you are going to use as part of your mind and body training from that chapter.
Throughout the book there are lots of inspirational quotes that you can relate to and they help keep you focused on what you want to achieve and how you are going to do this.
I loved the fact that I could relate to the thoughts and feelings of the professionals in each chapter making it feel personal to my own plight. I found myself, nodding at how they felt and the thoughts they had and how this reflected my own personal feelings.
The book has not only helped me get back to the gym and lose 10 pounds in weight in 4 weeks it has also helped me in training my mind at work too. I have used lots of the secrets in the book to change the way I communicate with my team and I can see lots of successes as a result.
At just over 200 pages I was able to read a chapter write down my thoughts and action plan and take time to reflect on what I had learnt and put this into practice. The great thing is that you can refer back to any chapter when you feel you need to as it is set out in separate headings such as motivation, communication, goal setting etc… I will continue to use the techniques and secrets I have discovered from reading this great book. I am looking forward to the next book by the authors as I know it will definitely be worth reading.
