“Come with Alice on a magical adventure as she tumbles into Wonderland! Guided by the White Rabbit, Alice meets some astonishing characters, including the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, a studious caterpillar and those mischievous twins, Tweedledum and Tweedledee.”
I arrived at the Grove Theatre box office collected my tickets and was given clear directions of where to find my seats. Upon arriving near my seats again I was clearly shown where to sit and already both members of staff were very friendly.
I took my 8 year old daughter & 2 nieces aged, 6 & 12 to the show. My sister also purchased a ticket. The show started slightly late no more than 10 minutes.
However, it was certainly worth the wait, my daughter & nieces were blown away, I have never known them so quiet.
The whole performance was fantastic, the costumes were so colourful and of extremely high standard. The interval was just right & the total running time of the performance was perfect.
The standard of dancing was magnificent, again extremely very high standard. The story was illustrated beautifully, and there was also a little humour too with some of the props. It was apparent that the show was welcomed by the audience as there was constant clapping between scenes.
There was a real mixture of audience, families with & without children. The atmosphere was great, it was obvious everyone thoroughly enjoyed the show.
The toilets were very clean & all the staff appeared to be happy and friendly.
I would definitely recommend the show to friends & family.
I wouldn't hesitate booking up again if the show were to be repeated. I think the pricing was just right, I wouldn't have wanted to pay anymore for children. It made a really nice change watching a ballet as opposed to usual pantomime or musical. We also purchased a programme which I think the price was reasonable, wouldn't have wanted to pay any more than £5. The quality and layout was very thorough and it's always nice to read up on the performers.
It was obvious a lot of hard work had been put into putting this performance together. It was a great pleasure to watch.
