Blackpool Pleasure Beach
featuring Wallace and Gromit Thrill-O-Matic Ride
Reviewed by Brian Grehan and Family
Last bank holiday weekend we ventured to the Pleasure Beach in Blackpool. The weather was excellent and the queuing time was surprisingly short on each ride we went on. We normally invest in the Speedy Pass which is great value for those who don't want to spend a lot of time waiting but even though the resort was doing great business we did not miss it on this occasion.
I love going on all the white knuckle rides at Blackpool Pleasure Beach especially the Big One! The first sheer drop is fantastic and the rest of the ride is superb too. All too soon the ride is over and we are ready for the next thrill.
The next thrill comes in the shape of the Big Dipper one of the oldest roller coasters in the country. It may have been around quite a while but it still provides thrills and spills! Next up was Infusion which is a white knuckle ride to beat all white knuckle rides! Infusion is fast becoming my favourite ride in the Pleasure Beach.
After Infusion we decided on a change of pace in the form of the Pleasure Beach's latest addition Wallace & Gromit's Thrill-O-Matic ride. The Trillomatic is definitely a ride that will appeal to all members of the family especially the younger members. With elements from every adventure our 2 heroes have been through I found the ride extremely entertaining. Yes I know it’s not a white knuckle rip roaring roller coaster but it is very funny and entertaining. As the ride progressed I was laughing louder and louder! The Thrillomatic got a big thumbs up from all of us!
We then paid a trip to Nickelodeon Land which is always worth a visit! Especially as 2 of our party just live for going on SpongeBob's Splash Bash. After a few goes on this and we had all dried off we then went on Blue Flyer which is an excellent introduction to roller coasters for the younger members of the party.
In this part of the resort I always make special efforts to get on Nickelodeon Streak and Avatar Air Bender both brimming with excitement! All too soon our time at the Pleasure Beach was over and we were all talking about our next visit which always a great sign of enjoyment. We cannot wait till our next visit when I hope to go on Avalanche, Valhalla, Grand National and Revolution!
Overall Blackpool Pleasure Beach is full of thrills and spills and we definitely recommend it!
