I was very excited to be chosen to review the show Buble Fever at the Grove Theatre in Dunstable and I can honestly say I was not disappointed.

I arrived at the venue and there was a lot of free parking with a 2 minute walk to the theatre. Inside the theatre the foyer is very large and airy with a bar area serving soft drinks alcohol and hot beverages. It was buzzing with people purchasing drinks and chatting waiting for the performance to start. I went to reception to collect my tickets and was greeted by a lovely young lady who explained which entrance we needed to go in and also where our seats were. I went to the bar to get drinks and was served by a very friendly and professional young man.

When we went into the theatre itself we were directed very clearly and friendly to our seats, which were very comfortable with lots of leg room and a fantastic view.

At 7.35pm the show started and Rickie Arthur came on stage with his backing band of 4 great musicians. He started singing and if you shut your eyes you would think it was the Michael Buble on the stage. He sang a variation of songs fast and slow from Buble, Michael Jackson, Queen, the Late great Rat Pack and lots more. His interaction with the audience was brilliant. There were all ages from 10 to 80 years, male and female. He had great banter with his backing band who in turn included the audience. One lucky lady got to go on stage as it was her birthday, he got everyone to sing Happy Birthday to her and she was presented with a bouquet of flowers. The first half of the show included the slower songs which everyone knew and gave great applause.

In the interval I went to the toilets, which were very easy to locate and also very clean. In the interval Rickie was out in the foyer and was quite happily having photos with individuals and also groups of people.

On to the second half, it livened up so much he had the majority of the audience up out of their seats and dancing and singing. Some people were also dancing in the aisles. He was asking the audience for requests of songs that he could sing.

It was a fabulous evening and recommend it if he is in your area in the future. He told us he had played at the Grove before and I would love to go again when and if appears there.

Definitely a 5 star rating.
