Ted Baker Take a Bow Polly Gift Set Review

I don’t use lots of different perfumes, generally sticking to same few tried and tested favourites, so my dressing table is a bit bare in that respect! If I find a fragrance I like, I will be very loyal to it, as the bigger bottles always seem to last me absolutely ages. It was really good, then, to receive the Ted Baker Take a Bow Polly gift set to review, to allow me to add a new and unexpected fragrance to my collection. This gift set would also make a fabulous Christmas gift.

The gift set comes in a bright pink box, with the classic gold lettering of Ted Baker, and a gold outlined embossed bow on the top. The box slides open to reveal a light pink inner, containing a 30ml bottle of the Polly perfume and a mirror enclosed in a pouch.

The perfume bottle is rectangular with rounded corners, and coloured with a dark to light pink ombre, featuring the same gold Ted Baker lettering and a gold ridged spherical lid, with a little pink jewel on the crown. A nice touch! The lid easily pulls off, revealing a simple gold pump spray. The perfume is beautiful. Ted Baker describe it as Sweet Treat Polly, and that’s certainly true! It has top notes of mandarin, red berries and peach, topped off with a twist of amber, vanilla and musk. It truly couldn’t be more perfect for me if it tried. Misting the perfume gives you a real fruit hit, and then you get those other notes in a wonderful heady mix. What is really nice is the size of the bottle – at around 12cm tall including the lid it can be easily slipped into a handbag to freshen up in the day.

The compact mirror is around 10cm square and comes in a little dark pink slip case with cute scalloped edging on the front opening edge. The case is again embossed with the Ted Baker logo on the Polly bow, and the mirror slides out easily with the aid of a ribbon. The mirror also has a little gold tag, bearing the T for Ted Baker logo. The mirror isn’t one of those cheap plastic ones either; it’s a proper mirror with rounded corners so you don’t poke yourself in the face or finger! It comes with a protective plastic cover to prevent scratching so you’ll know it will be perfect for the recipient if you gift this lovely set for Christmas. The nicest surprise is that the bottom of the mirror has a secret message on it: “looking beautiful”. The back of the back of the mirror is also a mirror! It also has the protective plastic on it to keep to looking fantastic until first use. The size again makes it perfect for popping into a handbag.

This gift set will be perfect for Christmas for anyone who likes fruit and vanilla scents and is just right for carrying around in a handbag or even just sitting in pride of place on your or your gift recipient’s dressing table.

At an RRP of £24 I think this is good value, and an easy gift choice. I’ll definitely be adding this to my list of favourite perfumes!
