Christmas Crooners celebrates the music of Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby. Over 30 well known songs are included with lots of Christmas tunes to get you in the festive mood.

The cast is made up of three males and a female who perform alone and also together throughout.

The mixture of carols, Christmas tunes and their well-loved hits make it flow well and the mostly older audience seemed to be enjoying it and singing along.

The stage looks warm and cosy and is set in the style of Andy Williams Christmas specials from many years ago.

The band are situated around the set and are a talented bunch.

The singers portraying the great men themselves sounded nothing like them I am afraid to say and a lot of the time they were off key. The jokes were lame and fell flat and the whole show seemed a bit hit and miss and lacked personality. At times it made me feel a little uncomfortable it was so bad.

Costume changes were done with ease and the Broad as they called her had some lovely outfits.

By the second half the row in front of us had left and the gentleman opposite had a snooze!

I didn’t really enjoy this show and neither did my mum which is a shame as we are both big fans of Nat, Bing and Frank. But they were killing their songs.

St George’s Hall in Bradford is a beautiful venue with plenty of helpful friendly staff. The seating in the stalls looks like it has been replaced and now it is school hall like chairs with no arms which were not very comfortable.

We parked in the NCP carpark over the road and it is only a couple of minutes’ walk away. There are plenty of eateries and pubs scattered around for a pre-show tipple. The theatre itself also has a couple of bars where we found the staff great.

Overall in my opinion a very poor show. But as it has been touring 8 years so maybe it could be said what do I know?
