My sister and I took my two girls aged 8 and 10 to Chessington World of Adventures last Sunday. It was easy to find as it was well sign posted from the M25 and parking was a doddle! Once in the park our first obstacle was choosing what to do first! It was soon decided that rides simply had to come first. My eldest was very keen to go on the Vampire ride so off we headed in that direction however my youngest daughter was a bit apprehensive… but she absolutely loved it!

Many rides later we decided we’d take some time out from thrill seeking to go and check out the animals in the zoo so we caught the safari train from which we saw many animals including penguins, gorillas, tigers and lions. The zoo also hosts a walk through area which is home to an array of various species of birds.

Soon it was time for animals of a different nature as we set off for Madagascar Live; we decided to get there 15-20 minutes early in order to grab a drink from the nearby coffee shop which was really handy as we managed to get seated right at the front. Approximately 10 minutes before the show we were approached by 2 members of staff who explained that the penguins of Madagascar would need some volunteers during the show and asked both of my daughters if they would be willing to participate… the next thing we knew my girls were limbo dancing with the penguins and loving every minute!

We finished off the day with a trip to the sea life centre where my youngest was delighted that she found Nemo! My eldest daughter also tried out the cleaner shrimps which cleaned her hands; I on the other hand wasn’t so brave! All in all Chessington is a fab family day out as there is simply something for everyone, a great day had by us all.
