Christmas Chaos for the Hundred-Mile-An-Hour Dog by Jeremy Strong Review

Reviewed by Dot White and Lauren Talbot

Streaker is Trevor’s dog and she is always getting into mischief much to his parent’s annoyance.  When Streaker has three puppies, his parents want to sell them in time for Christmas as they have had to feed them and pay vet’s bills. Trevor wants to keep the puppies until after Christmas. Charlie Smugg, a local bully, demands that Trevor gives him half the money from the sale of the puppies as he says one of his Alsatians is the father. However, before his parents can sell the puppies they disappear while Trevor is walking them in the park.

Trevor’s parents are not willing to help, but his friend Tina, who would love to be his girlfriend, comes to his aid with the help of her dog Mouse. Streaker of course is keen to assist in finding her puppies but unintentionally causes chaos every step of the way.

Lauren loved it when Streaker caused yet another problem for Trevor by racing off into trouble. She thought it very funny that Tina’s dog Mouse was a huge St Bernard who had to be dragged everywhere!

The book is illustrated with black and white pictures which helped Lauren understand what was happening in the story.

This is an exciting story with action all the way to the finish, will Trevor  manage to find the puppies before Christmas? I  think both boys and girls will enjoy this story.
