I have been to see many amazing shows at the New Theatre Cardiff, however, most of these have been adult shows, therefore, it was a real treat to attend as a family. My daughter Poppy was particularly excited to see the traditional fairy-tale come to life on the stage.
As Orbit is an amateur theatre group I was wondering how the show would compare with performances put on by more experienced theatre groups, however, I am pleased to say we were not disappointed, with the cast pulling off a superb musical performance!
We were treated to a musical rendition of the traditional classic and I was highly impressed by the vocals of all members of the cast!
Jodi Bird, portrayed the down-trodden Cinderella with believable charm and elegance. Sarah Green, Paige Hodgson and Fern O’Brien also pulled out all the stops with their excellent depiction of the wicked stepmother and squabbling step-sister duo. It was also great to see so many young faces participate in the show, also contributing to the flawless performance.
My 9 year old daughter was captivated throughout and has asked to give her own opinion of the show ……” I loved going to see Cinderella, it was good fun and I enjoyed the acting. I think the background looked really good as well and I loved all the fancy dress costumes. I would really like to go and see the show again. My favourites were Cinderella and the nasty step mum, I loved that they had a real pony too.”
Overall, a great show sure to capture the hearts and imagination of young and old! I’d give the show a rating of 4/5, well worth a visit and well done Orbit!
