What a wonderful sunny afternoon to stroll along the sea front. We made sure we had plenty of time to find a parking space and arrived early at the Cliffs Pavilion in Southend to watch CIRQUE ENCHANTMENT. After having a refreshing drink in the bar which overlooked the stunning coast we took to our seats.
The theatre was full and looking around the ages varied from the young to the old.
CIRQUE ENCHANTMENT is a concert style cirque production which features stunning choreography, breath taking vocals and mesmerising circus performers. The musical soundtrack was mainly pop.
The beginning of the show opened with theatrical music and the curtain remained closed. A single female appeared and opened with “Somewhere over the rainbow”.
Throughout the whole performance we were entertained with beautiful vocals from the 2 leading ladies. The music varied from Rihanna, Beyoncé, Take That, Madonna, Eurhythmics, One Direction to Tears for Fears. Their vocals were outstanding and complimented each other very well.
We were thrilled with various acts ranging from aerial silk, dancing with flames, hula hoop dancing, acrobatics, trapeze spinning and archery with a twist, this included a very flexible performer using her feet whilst bending over backwards to fire the arrow whilst it was on fire. The men were extremely well toned and were wooing us all with their gymnastics and juggling skills throughout the performances; the female performers wore bright sequinned costumes and looked stunning.
The only negative part of the performance was the lighting. At times it felt as though the lighting crew had forgotten who to shine the spot light on.
Overall it was a fantastic choreographed show.
