From 17 September the hugely popular Covert Affairs Season 2 is released on DVD.

Season 2 continues from where the first series finished with Ben recovering after being shot. While lying in his hospital bed with Annie by his side 2 hitmen try to assassinate them setting up season 2 with an explosive start.

Season two sees Annie (Piper Perabo) becoming more comfortable as a young female CIA agent who is invaluable to her department at the DPD but this causes increasing problems at home with her sister. This season sees her traveling around the world on her missions visiting countries such as Argentina, Belarus, Germany, France and Sweden.

While Annie is trying to deal with her problems, Arthur (Peter Gallagher) is still fighting his own problem with the leak in his department while Auggie (Christopher Gorman) gets a promotion that he doesn’t like and falls in love and Jay (Sendhil Ramamurthy) manoeuvres his way into his own promotion with the Special Projects Department and starts to alienate his fellow agents.

Overall, I found Season 2 to be much better than the first season with a lot more action and much faster paced and great storylines.  The interaction between the characters, especially between Annie and Auggie, is great. Along with the action and suspense there are some good light-hearted moments mixed with the stressful moments of Annie trying to keep her CIA life secret from her sister which results in them having a bit of a falling out.

Great entertainment value and highly recommended.
