The 13th Crick Boat Show & Waterways Festival offers an extended four-day event from 2 to 5 June 2012, at Crick Marina (near Daventry), to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

The Northamptonshire event, which is expected to attract 25,000 visitors, is organised by Waterways World in partnership with British Waterways and Crick Marina.

Crick Boat Show offers a fantastic day out for all the family with free boat trips, live music, a free children’s fairground and entertainment, food and drink stalls, competitions, food demonstrations, seminars, a marina full of new and historic boats to view, a heritage and wildlife activity area and over 200 exhibitors – from boat builders, waterway accessories and services to arts, crafts, gourmet foods and holidays.

The Diamond Jubilee will be marked at the show with a number of special activities, including a ‘street party’ with bunting, free flags and live screening of the Jubilee ceremonies.  The entertainment will be hosted by Isla St Clair, folk singer and former Generation Game hostess, alongside The Queen Mother’s former Scottish Piper and the Towcester Studio brass band.

Peter Johns, Publisher of Waterways World and Show Director, says: “We are looking forward to a fantastic longer Crick Boat Show in 2012, which coincides with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.  All the usual Crick favourites will be there, including plenty of boats to view and boating equipment.  If you’re looking for a great way to commemorate the Jubilee, there’s something to keep everyone entertained at Crick with a free children’s fairground and a wide variety of music and activities for all ages.”

The Show is open from 10am till 6pm every day except Tuesday 5 June, when it closes at 5pm.  Tickets can be bought in advance, saving up to 25 per cent on gate prices.  Entry is free for under 5’s.
