On Thursday 30 October 2014 myself and my partner went to The Lowry Theatre in Salford Manchester to see The House That Stank of Death: Volume 4 – a comedy horror, perfect for Halloween.
The Lowry is extremely easy to get to and well signposted. Easy access for car, bus or metro link visitors. Plenty of nearby car parking spaces available for car drivers.
We ended up parking at The Lowry shopping outlet so we could browse the shops and have a meal along with a few drinks before the show started… Plus a bonus parking is free if you buy something from one of the shops or dine at one of the many restaurants or bars.
Once we arrive at The Lowry we were greeted and welcomed by the ladies on the ticket desk, there was a slight confusion with the tickets but that was easily, quickly and professionally resolved, we were shown which studio we needed to go to, I didn’t realise how many there were! We had the opportunity of sitting where we wanted, the seats where comfy and we had a brilliant view! There are also disability facilities available.
Once the show started we could clearly hear the cast, not only did the cast put on a great show with comedy, short plays and films but they also involved the audience, we haven’t laughed as much as we did in a long time!
Half way through the performance there was an interval which gave us the opportunity to stretch our legs, use the toilet and to buy any beverages or snacks, we could either eat/drink them in the bar area or in the studio whilst watching the performance which made it feel very homely and cosy.
As time quickly ran out, next time we will take advantage by going for a walk around the quays which surround the Lowry.
I shall definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for future shows, A very good evening and would definitely recommended…
