I was so excited to be reviewing Dance ’til Dawn with Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace as being an avid ‘Strictly’ fan and I was not disappointed. I went with my daughter and we arrived at Milton Keynes Theatre and parked just outside the theatre (which was free). We made our way to the piano bar which was easy to find to collect our tickets. We were greeted by a lovely friendly lady who offered us drinks while she gave us our tickets and programme and we were able to return in the interval for another drink. The clean and busy foyer of this lovely theatre was buzzing with excitement as we queued to be shown to our seats. Our seats were comfortable and situated to the side of the packed theatre with an excellent view.
The curtain went up and the story began, narrated by Teddy Kempsey. When Vincent and Flavia appeared they were greeted by rapturous applause. The scenes were full of razzle dazzle, glitz and glamour, lots of beautiful costume changes and of course phenomenal dancing by Vincent, Flavia and the rest of the cast.
Each scene told a different part of the story, helped by the wonderful singing of the soloist Oliver Darley and again the rest of the cast, who were brilliant at both singing and dancing. The songs were varied from the 60’s to the present day and was really upbeat.
I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed the show and it exceeded my expectations. I was mesmerised by the quality of the dancing especially the speed that Vincent and Flavia were moving. You could see they all put their heart and soul into their performance. It was highly energetic from start to finish.
I would highly recommend this show and rate it a well-earned 5 out of 5.
