We were asked to review one the two Manchester branches of EastZEast – the home of Punjabi cooking, and went to the Riverside branch in Blackfriars Street. They also have a branch in Princess Street as well as Liverpool, Preston, Birmingham and Bury.
We don’t drive, however they offer FREE Valet Parking Concierge Service which you don’t come across often, a nice touch. Upon entering the establishment we were greeted with a smile and excellent hospitality.
We were shown to the bar were they had mocktails and cocktails where I ordered a sour Amaretto and my partner had a Lynchburg lemonade, these were prepared in front of us with a lavish flare, which we both enjoyed.
After finishing our drinks we were shown our seats and we met some really nice people.
After studying the extensive menu we decided on a nice selection of dips with poppadom’s, then tandoori lamb chops, chicken boti, onion bhaji and vegetable samosa, which were all to our liking and very tasty.
The main consisted of Murgh Tikka Makhani from the mild & creamy section – cooked with fresh cream, pistachios and almonds (£10.95), Lamb Sookah Bunah from the traditional Punjabi desi dishes and is an authentic Asian style – is served on or off the bone in a special sauce and has a 2 chilli rating which is medium spiced (£11.95) and Balti Seafood – a combination of prawns, king prawns and fish, also a 2 chilli rating (£12.95). I really liked the Murgh Tikka Makhani where my partner enjoyed the Balti Seafood.
We were quite full after and starts and mains but still found room for desert. I chose the jam sponge pudding with custard and my partner had Swiss chocolate with Ferrero Rocher and both were delicious.
As a couple for a first time experience at EastZEast we had a really good evening. All the food was extremely tasty, well cooked and freshly prepared. The staff were all very helpful and polite and the atmosphere was great and very welcoming. We can’t wait to go back again and would definitely recommend EastZEast.
The menu is extensive but well laid out and the hot/spicy dishes have a chilli rating of between 1 and 3 (mild, medium and hot). Dishes are also marked as vegetarian, healthy (grilled), contains cream and A* for Authentic Asian Style – Medium to Hot, so you are able to make a more informed decision about the dishes you want to try.
A takeaway menu is also available with a discount of you collect. They can also cater for parties, wedding and special events.
An excellent meal with professional, friendly, polite and efficient staff.
