Edifier Studio R1600T III Speakers Review

The Studio 1600TIII desktop speakers are stylish, neat and compact with their angled design and wood grain finish so not only look great but most of sound great.
On opening the box the speakers are very easy to set up, there is one speaker out connection from the main right speaker to the left speaker to connect both speakers together and then connections for your preferred connection, PC RCA to 3.5mm jack or AUX RCA. Both sets of cables are provided.
The speakers have dual RCA ports (PC and Aux connections) so were easily connected to my laptop, television and stereo. The speakers have volume, bass and treble controls on the side of one speaker and can also be controlled by the very small and simple wireless remote control (only has 3 buttons – volume up and down and mute).
Once connected the sound was crisp, clear and good quality from the total 60w RMS output. At low and high levels the sound was never distorted. I tried in on my laptop for mp3’s, audio cd’s and games and the sound was perfect. Next I tried on my television and watched a film and the sound was excellent even picking up low noises than I don’t hear that well from the television speakers. On the stereo, the radio and audio cd’s sounds were crystal clear and even at half volume the sound was loud enough that you would have to raise your voice to be heard properly. At full volume there was still no distortion.
Overall the Edifier Studio R1600T III 2.0 speakers are a pair of brilliant, versatile speakers with excellent sound quality. They are aesthetically pleasing and the build quality is great. The only slight negatives are that the remote control doesn’t control the bass and treble and there is no headphone jack on the speakers.
