It’s safe to say I love food! So when I was given the opportunity last minute to attend the Foodies Festival at Tatton Park it was a no brainer!

Foodies Festival is a family friendly food festival and the UK’s largest celebration of food and drink. Children under 12 (and dogs!) are free.

As soon as we entered we were greeted by friendly staff from the Stella Artois tent offering free samples of their new cidre which is always a good start to the day!

There were plenty of samples to enjoy including Harvey’s sausages, olives, cheese, cookies, shortbread, gin, wine, coconut water and many more! It looked like some people were on a mission to sample as many free foods as possible! I’ve been told if it’s bite-size it doesn’t contain calories?!

We indulged in what had to be the best burger ever from Rad Burgers as well as Pimms at 11am because as they say it’s always Pimms O Clock. We brought home a delicious looking Longhorn steak pie from Brockleby’s farm and the biggest raspberry meringue I’ve ever seen.

Pimms

I also spied Simon Wood, this year’s Masterchef champion, who attended the show with his family, but I was too nervous to go and say hello! He was doing a cookery demonstration later in the day but unfortunately we didn’t have time to stay and watch.

The Cake and Bake Theatre got everyone excited for the return of Great British Bake Off and there was the opportunity for children to learn to cook in the Children’s Cookery Theatre.

I will definitely be returning to the Foodies Festival next year.

Tatton Park is part of the National Trust and is located in 1000 acres of the most beautiful deer park. We visit Tatton Park on a regular basis and are looking forward to our Segway adventure later in the year. There is always plenty to do and they host over 100 events a year. Parking is £5 in addition to any ticket/entrance fees.

Rating: 5/5 thumbs_up

Tickets cost £10 to £13 for 1 day ticket, £20 for 3 day ticket.

Open from 10am to 6pm each day.

The Foodies Festival is at Tatton Park in Cheshire until Sunday 19 July 2015 before moving on to Clapham Common in London 24-26 July 2015. For more information or to book tickets visit www.foodiesfestival.com.
