The first thing to I need to comment on is the quality, it’s printed on museum grade paper (printed on Canson Edition Etching Rag to be exact!). It has a lovely thick feel and makes the colours even more vibrant.
Talking of the colours, they are just what you want for a child’s/baby’s bedroom. Soothing blues and yellows, perfect for a good night’s sleep! It is suitable for either a girl or a boy and any age really.
The quote is from a classic American children’s book, ‘Goodnight Moon’ which is about a little rabbit who is having trouble getting to sleep. He says goodnight to all the objects in his room, one by one, before reaching the phrase used on the print ‘Goodnight Stars, goodnight air, goodnight noises everywhere’, and the rabbit falls asleep.
It reminded me how lovely the story is, and it will go on my ‘classics to buy’ list.
Back to the picture, it comes unframed in two sizes A4 and A3, which are two very easy size frames to find.
If there is one thing that bugs me, it’s the uppercase/lowercase inconsistency. Seeing as it’s designed for children and they will be looking at it everyday it should be grammatically correct.
The sentiment is there, and with the soothing phrase and calming colours it would make a nice addition to a nursery.
