Summer weight loss

1) Get outdoors

We all want to have a rockin' body in that bikini,  killer legs coming out of that sundress, or toned arms on display in that boob-tube. However, it's not always as easy as just eating salads for a week or two coming up to the holiday. NO…you need to work out! Step away from your computer, from your tv… Take advantage of the seasonal change and get outside. I know it's hard to drag yourself out of bed early in the morning, but if you can do a brisk walk or even a mild run for 20-30 mins you can lose up to 100 calories. Take your dog on TWO walks a day. Wash your car and even your windows.

2) Bring a buddy

Call a friend and ask if you can come up with a workout plan between the two of you everyday. Keeping fit with a friend will really help with motivation. You can support each other and spur each other on.

3) Get happy

Exercise WILL burn those calories & help you lose weight, but it is also great for your mood. Exercise decreases the stress hormones such as cortisol and increases endorphins which are the body’s NATURAL feel good chemicals. Not only will you look good this summer but you will feel good as well. This will keep you motivated and keep those pounds off. Bonus!

How to get a beach body in a week

1) One word… DETOX!

Why not try a detox for a week? It not only will help you lose weight, but it’s a fab way to spring clean your system and rid your body of harmful bacteria, viruses and parasites.

Detoxing is an amazing way to boost the weight loss process by improving digestion, improving your metabolism and it also alkalises the body. This will give you more consistent energy levels so you’ll be able to go and work-out more!

5 things to avoid when to detoxing:

1) Dairy

2) Sugar

3) Alcohol

4) Wheat products

5) Caffeine

You may be looking at this and thinking this is the ONLY thing I ever eat, but I'm only asking you to do it for a week and it WILL help you lose those pounds before your holiday and I promise you will feel fantastic afterwards!

How to stay in shape on holiday

1) Drink calorie controlled cocktails and balance it out by drinking lots of water to cleanse your system.

Obviously whilst you’re away on holiday you'll want to drink those delicious daiquiri's and margaritas, but they’ll only pack on more calories. Try, drinking water throughout the day to keep you hydrated. This has no calories at all, and in the evening why not try a tequila and seltzer on the rocks instead. Not only is this a fantastic cocktail but it’s low calorie too. Plus, by sipping slowly, you'll take in fewer calories. Fantastic!

2) Get naked! Less clothes = less cheating!

Wear all your small dresses and jean shorts. Studies show that girls who wear loose fitting clothes eat more. So show that skin girlies and be proud.

How to prepare for a trip away.

1) Preparation is key

When you make a physical change in your body, you will see an expressed change in your spiritual, emotional and mental life too. Preparation is key. Try writing out meal plans as this will make you more likely to stick to your diet goals. If you get out the outfits you would like to wear on your holiday, it will give you more of a motivation to fit into and look good in them!

2) Get cultural

Researching the cuisine of your holiday destination can help you to stay focused and help you to keep those pounds off whilst on holiday. You’d do it at home so why not whilst you’re away?

Some exotic places have glorious, healthy foods which taste amazing; however some destinations are renowned for fast food joints. If this is the case, forward planning will give you an advantage so you can plan healthy and appetising foods for snacks during the day.
