The planner arrived swiftly wrapped in branded tissue. The book itself is a vibrant yellow with black writing and a blink eye graphic. It is a substantial hardback book with over 300 pages, thankfully there is a bookmark ribbon so you would never lose your place.

I had been considering trying bullet journaling, meditation or some wellbeing activities to improve my mindset for a while but had no idea where to start. So, when this product arrived, I was intrigued to see what was inside.

I really like the structure. This 12-week journal is easy to follow and guides you every step of the way as a daily companion. My initial view of the book is as means of organising my thoughts and emotions so that I am more aware of them and can make sense of why they are what they are. That is not to say, that is all this planner does. However, it is one of the main benefits I see myself getting, that and a more positive outlook, whilst removing some of the more damaging negative behaviours, hopefully. Although, I think this planner will help individuals in different ways.

With the pandemic nearing the year mark I think a lot of people will be looking for ways to look after their mental health. This is a great first step for those wanting to make their mental health a priority. It would also make a thoughtful gift for a loved one for Valentines or for those that want to give to a Galentine. This would also make a lovely addition to my bridesmaid gifts, something they would use and benefit from, that is a bit more meaningful than a personalised glass or otherwise. Equally, if you know someone that’s an avid stationery lover they’d also likely appreciate the organisation this planner offers. There are so many people I can think of that this would help, because everyone is touched by mental health to some degree.

It takes an average of 66 days for a new habit to be formed so this book should get you well on the way to making mental health and wellbeing a new part of life. That said, if it takes you longer, it may pose the question of what’s next? Having only had the planner a short time I am not sure if it would be a problem or by then I would be where I want to be. However, that is my only slight reservation and there are a number of other items under the positive brand, including a wellness journal and bullet diary amongst others. If this helps me in the way I hope, I would see it as an investment.

Also, interesting to note was the full page of contributors to the crowdfunding campaign to get this initiative started. It shows there’s clearly a desire for this kind of companion and help. The founders, Ali and Finn, demonstrate a real hope to make the world a better place. Not only through supporting mental health but through their ethical and sustainable choices as a living wage employer and commitment to the environment choosing FSC paper for their planners and biodegradable packaging.

Overall, this planner provides a focused approach to self-care, gratitude and positivity in bitesize manageable chunks and I am looking forward to progressing along this journey.

Rating: I would rate this company and the product 4.5/5
