I was really pleased to be asked to try out the Karcher Window Vac on behalf of What’s Good To Do recently. I’d seen the product advertised on TV, and thought it looked really great so was delighted to get the opportunity to try it out for myself.
I’m not as fit as I used to be, and can find cleaning windows to be a bit of an exercise these days. The main issue I have it the back of my house faces the sun for most of the day, so any smears where the dirty water hasn’t been cleaned off properly looks very noticeable, and can look worse than before the window was cleaned.
I was quite surprised how small the package was when it arrived, I’d somehow imagined it would be bigger. However, the unit itself needed minimal assembly; it was just a case go clipping the head onto the main body of the unit and was ready to go. The unit was the lovely bright yellow colour that I always associate with Karcher, and it felt really substantial – almost heavy for its size, but still light enough to be handled and manoeuvred easily. The instructions were really simple, and the product arrived charged so it was all ready to go.
Using it is really easy. I wiped the windows over with soapy waterfront, a sponge, then set about using the vac to remove the suds and water. It was so very easy. I was really surprised just how well the vac worked, removing the ample volume of water along with the soap suds efficiently and very well. I moved down the windows in vertical stripes, then finished off with a horizontal sweep across the bottom. The results were fabulous, totally streak free and so much less effort required than buffing the windows clean.
It is then a simple matter of removing the waste water chamber and emptying it down the sink. I was surprised just how dirty the water was, again, to me, evidence of how efficiently the product works.
As well as the house windows, I have also used it to do the car windows household mirrors and a glass coffee table. It has also been used to vacuum up a glass of water than my granddaughter spilled; everything it’s been used for, it has performed really well.
The battery life is really reasonable too, I managed to do all of the windows in the house and the car windows on a single charge, which I’m really happy with.
I really like this product and have already recommended it to several members of my family as well as some friends.
