I reviewed the Kozi Kidz Torr Waterproof Jacket and Trouser set. I reviewed a size 100cm which is age 3-4.
The first thing I immediately noticed about the Kozi Kidz waterproofs was that they were a much higher quality than I was expecting and that you usually find with lightweight waterproofs.
The jacket is made from a soft shell type material with an inner mesh which will help keep the coat breathable. The jacket is very well designed, I reviewed the navy jacket which has an attractive white banding by the zip and a small Kozi Kidz tag on the front left of the jacket. On the back of the jacket there is another local and three reflective dots, the logo is modern in its design and in no way detracts from the overall look of the jacket. There are two good sized pockets with Velcro fastening – helpful for putting gloves and cold hands in in and addition an extra rubber tag on the main zip makes it easier for small hands to do up. The jacket benefits from a detachable hood which is attached by press studs and can be folded inside the neck to store when not in use. The sleeve cuffs and waistband are both elastic ensuring a good fit and allowing for varying sizes in children.
I felt the jacket was generous enough to allow a jumper / fleece to be worn underneath in cooler weather, the handy mesh lining means that it is also very practical for rainy summer days and the waistband is elastic ensuring a good fit and allowing for varying sizes in children.
The trousers were made from the same material as the jacket, they have a cloth tag logo on the right hand seam and a printed logo down the leg. Whilst the printed logo is quite visible it does not detract from the overall design of the product. The ankles of the trousers are cuffed with an adjustable rubber strap to go under shoes.
I felt that both the jacket and the trousers are of a high quality for lightweight waterproofs, they look very smart when worn but are very practical and my little boy was able to run and move around very easily in them. Whilst lightweight the material is of such quality that it looks unlikely to snag or tear easily which is important to us as we do lots of camping. The set folds down very small which makes it practical to put in a bag when you are out and about which is a must for the changeable British weather.
We do an awful lot of outdoor activities as a family, especially camping and dog walking so own a fair amount of wet weather gear, usually sticking to the main outdoor brands. However I will have no hesitation in the future to recommend Kozi Kidz to my friends and family.
