Anyone who knows me know that I love my kitchen gadgets! So when I received the Chef’n Pull’n Slice Mandoline from Lakeland I was in my element!
It came securely packed and the box was clear and informative with what to expect within the box and of the product itself.
Having recently joining a local slimming group this was a welcome gadget to help me on my way. Upon opening the box all the parts were neatly packed and the blades were securely wrapped. Included in the box were the slicing deck, a hand guard, safety hood and a variety of blades: the French fry blade, julienne blade and an extra blade storage, and an instruction booklet.
I couldn’t wait to put it together and see what I could pull and slice! It was easy to work out which part went where thought I did refer back to the manual to make sure it was correct. You place the slicing deck into the safety hood and turn the lock at the bottom so you can’t pull it all the way back out and hurt yourself. The instructions were clear and easy to follow with step by step pictures and quick to the point statements.
Firstly I decided to prepare some carrots for tea, after enlisting the help of my 4 year old to peel them, I set about putting the Pull’n Slice on the correct setting as you can adjust it to the shape and thickness you want your food item to be and set about the process. I put the carrot into the hole in the safety deck and began to pull the slice to and from and underneath out came perfectly cut carrots… awesome! My children were amazed so much so they wanted a go… and before I knew it I had a whole bag of carrots peeled and sliced within no time. As much as I was grateful they wanted to help I was now stuck with a mountain of carrots!
I took all the pieces apart to be washed this process was quick and easy and whilst fiddling with it I found out how to change the blade with the push of a button, a lot easier than I thought. Our Pull’n Slicing session lasted a bit longer that it should as my 10 year old wanted ago and by the end of the night we kind of went OTT and had sliced cucumber, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes and onions.
I know this will be a well-used item within my kitchen and will be used on a regular basis and I’m kind of wondering why I haven’t got one before now.
I would definitely recommend this anyone and everyone as I think it is a kitchen must have, why would you want to spend ages chopping fruit and veg when this is so easy?
A massive thumbs up!
