Tuesday night, the Jazz Cafe, Camden welcomed back Matt Schofield and his band for the Return of the Trio tour, almost exactly ten years since they first appeared at the venue. Matt’s style of authentic blues was well placed amongst the intimate setting to showcase both old and new material.
Matt’s enthusiasm and effortless style are reminiscent of 70s Eric Clapton, with dextrous fretboard work that’s won him the acclaim of Blues Guitarist of the Year 2010, 2011 and 2012.
His band (consisting of Johnny Henderson, bass; Evan Jenkins, drums) were equally polished, with each of them being well versed in the blues style of playing.
Matt Schofield and Return of the Trio are great entertainment for blues fans (but you probably already know about him!) but also for anyone who loves live music in an authentic venue.
