Meghan Trainor has unveiled the sumptuously retro video for her new single ‘Dear Future Husband’, out now through Epic Records. As the freshest household name in pop, Meghan Trainor plays the most-desired housewife in America as she auditions potential suitors seeking to woo the super-sassy pop star on their first date… but our feisty single lady knows how to make the men work hard for her hand!
‘Dear Future Husband’ is Meghan’s musical letter to her potential soul mates, written with a typically tongue-in-cheek lyric among her unmistakable sound of big room brass, finger clicks and funky doo-wop pop.
The single follows from the incredible success of the chart-busting releases ‘Lips Are Movin’, and the international super hit ‘All About That Bass’ – which has surpassed 1 million sales in the UK. With a YouTube account that is close to clocking up a BILLION hits, Meghan Trainor is well on her way to complete world domination with her perfect pastel pop.
It’s this unrivalled success that sees Meghan continue to clock up countless award nominations, with the latest announcement that she’s shortlisted for ‘Favourite New Artist’ and ‘Song Of The Year’ at the Nickelodeon 2015 Kids Choice Awards this March.
Meghan Trainor’s first ever US headline tour – entitled That Bass Tour – which finishes this week, received unanimous critical praise from press and sold-out crowds of fans alike.
Billboard claimed, “Trainor stretched her set in ways that felt authentic,” while The Hollywood Reporter wrote, “The lifelong performer took advantage of the venue’s intimacy while also seizing the opportunity to serve a spectacle.” The Chicago Tribune said, “After a year that set the 21-year-old on an unexpected pop star path, Trainor hit the stage in Chicago and showed that she had the verve and talent to justify her rise,” The Washington Post added, “Trainor’s voice sparkled almost as much as the bejeweled mike she poured it into,” and The OC Register claimed, “Her brand of doo-wop and bubble gum pop, infused with bits of funk and hip-hop, coupled with a sassy attitude and lyrics about female empowerment, have quickly made her a star.”
She’ll be bringing That Bass Tour to the UK next month for a four-date tour, which will see her headline London’s Shepherds Bush Empire on April 13th. Full tour details can be found below:
And off the back of the sold-out success of That Bass Tour Meghan Trainor announced on the Today show yesterday that she will be embarking on a tour of nearly 30 dates through the States performing shows on an even grander scale. The MTrain Tour will see Meghan headlining even bigger shows in even more cities this summer.
