Merlin’s Magic Wand and Mencap join forces to celebrate the launch of

’25 Days of Adventure’
at Chessington World of Adventures Resort

As Chessington World of Adventures Resort celebrates its 25th Anniversary this summer, an exclusive charity event is being held to mark the start of 25 Days of Adventure*.

Merlin’s Magic Wand and learning disability charity Mencap will team up to make the celebrations even more exciting with a ‘Make with Me’ event on 25th July 2012 exclusively at Chessington World of Adventures Resort.  With amazing prizes up for grabs in a one off competition on the launch day, the celebrations will begin in style

Families participating in the main charity event ‘Make with Me’ will put their creative skills to the test with a cake decorating competition being held in an exclusive Magic Marquee, giving them the chance to win some amazing prizes throughout the day! From a Toshiba Tablet to a Miele Hoover; Wii Console & Bundle to VIP family days out and experiences; a signed Cheryl Cole Picture, plus tickets to Madam Tussauds London, Lego box sets, as well as an array of more amazing prizes up for grabs, the two charities are hoping to make this one of their most fruitful fundraising events yet!

Over the years, Chessington World of Adventures Resort have worked closely with both Merlin’s Magic Wand and Mencap to offer families and individuals some much needed magical days out, offering them a welcome break from the often difficult day to day routines and stresses.

Supporters and past beneficiaries of the two charities will be attending the event to share their stories with guests and outline just how much they or their family members have benefitted from the help of either charity.

What is a learning disability?
A learning disability is a reduced intellectual ability and difficulty with everyday activities – for example household tasks, socialising or managing money – which affects someone for their whole life.

People with a learning disability tend to take longer to learn and may need support to develop new skills, understand complex information and interact with other people.

The level of support someone needs depends on individual factors, including the severity of their learning disability.
