At The Musicals
Live at The Shed, Glasgow

It's been quite a decade for Michelle McManus. Since winning Pop Idol 10 years ago her career has been a rollercoaster, and she was more than happy to talk candidly about the ups and downs with her rapturous audience while she took them on a journey through the musicals. From Chicago to Spamalot to We Will Rock You every song was performed with tons of personality and her talent shine through. It's hard to comprehend why a West End casting director hasn't snapped her up before now.
Her show, At the Musicals, enjoyed a sold out run at the Edinburgh Fringe before this short local run at The Shed in Glasgow. The Shed is attempting to reinvent itself as a theatre venue and it was the ideal venue for the show. It looks to be an excellent addition to the South Side's growing arts scene.
The quality of Michelle's performance, her funny and self-effacing banter and the reaction of the audience would suggest there is plenty of scope to take the show to a wider audience, it certainty has the makings of a hit touring show. Simon Cowell may yet regret letting this lady go!
