I have an 8 month old grandson, so am always on the lookout for nice products for him. I was sent a selection of baby and toddler items to test out with him. I received the following items:

A Teething Toy & Gel Applicator from Matchstick Monkey (RRP: £9.99)
A Sleep Tight All Night Bear from Golden Bear Toys (RRP: £29.99 to £34.99)
A Paddington Stacking Rings set from Rainbow Designs (RRP: £18.99)
A Thomas the Tank Engine Developmental Mirror from Rainbow Designs (RRP: £15.99)
A Milk Buster Bottle Cleaner Wash from Nimble Babies (RRP: £2.99 to £9.99)

Matchstick Monkey Teething Toy & Gel Applicator

I received this monkey in green (it is also available in grey, yellow, light blue and orange). The item arrived well packaged. My grandson wanted it the moment he spotted it and since being given it, it is rarely out of his mouth. He loves it.

The Matchstick Monkey Teething Toy & Gel Applicator is a teething toy in the shape of a monkey. It is made from food grade silicone, is non-toxic, freezer and dishwasher safe. Its arms are the handles, enabling my grandson to easily hold on to it so he can have a good chew.

The toothbrush bumps are a great idea. It has definitely helped with his sore, teething gums. What I love most about it, is the fact that it’s dishwasher and freezer friendly. It’s also been a great training aid for getting him used to a toothbrush.

If he loses the monkey, there are tears. It’s been a definite hit in our household. An excellent teething toy that helps with teething and helping to develop oral hygiene.

Golden Bear Toys Sleep Tight All Night Teddy

I was delighted to receive this item to review. It arrived well packaged and was easy to set up using the instructions provided. I received the teddy bear style version of this product (puppy, unicorn and Igglepiggle are also available).

My grandson wanted it as soon as he spotted it. Because my grandson is 8 months, we tend to use the bear for daytime naps. It was really easy to set up. I just squeezed the bear’s tummy. The red glowing light is really soothing. I love the fact that there is a choice of 5 relaxing sounds and not just one. When the bear’s tummy is squeezed at a time when nap time is over, the bear’s tummy glows green and this teaches my grandson that green means he can get up and play. The daytime play phrases when you squeeze its tummy are great fun.

This really is a 24/7 product. Because of my grandson’s age, we tend to do the tummy squeezing part for him at the moment and we do not let him sleep snuggling it, but even like this we have found the product to be really effective.

Fun and value for money.

Rainbow Designs Paddington Stacking Rings

The first thing that struck me when this item arrived, was how colourful it was. My grandson could not wait to play with it. He is 8 months old now, but I loved that the product was suitable from birth, so from my younger granddaughter too. The product came in minimal packaging, which is a great thing for the environment. It has 4 rings, each of a different colour and then Paddington bear’s head at the top. The base of the toy is a ring with a pole. Paddington itself has a squeaker. The rings have various textures, jingles and crinkles and have kept my grandson entertained for a good length of time.

Rainbow Designs Thomas Developmental Mirror

This product arrived in minimal packaging. My grandson loves playing with it and I love that while he is playing, his early developmental and sensory play skills are being encouraged. He loves looking in the mirror at himself and grabbing hold of the teether and Thomas hanging down from the mirror. The mirror itself is baby safe and easily attachable to his cot. Alternatively, it can be used with the stand on the floor during tummy time. I love the fact that my younger granddaughter could play with this too, as it’s suitable from birth.

Nimble Babies Milk Buster

If there is one thing I hated when my sons were growing up, it was smelly baby bottles. It can be a nightmare to get them clean. I was a bit sceptical, but when I tried it, it did detach the milk fat and proteins from the plastic baby bottle. I think that my grandson’s baby bottles will actually now last longer. Another plus is the fact that the product itself is milder than washing up liquid.

If I had to pick a favourite item, it would be the monkey as my little grandson would not be without it. If he loses it, there are tears. I would recommend all of these items for their usefulness and in the case of the toys, their fun value.
