‘The home of the Portuguese flame-grilled Peri-Peri chicken’
I was delighted to be asked to review Nando’s in the Trafford Centre – one of our favourite restaurants!
Nando’s is located in the Orient Food Hall next to the crèche area, just near the large screen. We were greeted at the desk and shown to our table immediately.
Once seated, the procedure for ordering the food was explained to us. In Nando’s, you choose what meal you would like and then how spicy you would like it such as Lemon and herb (no spice but lots of flavour), then medium spice going all the way up to extra hot for the very brave!
The menu options for children were very good and you can even have side orders from the adults menu as starters – nothing seemed to be a problem.
I then went to the counter to order our fairly complex food request that consisted of starters from the side order menu, children’s meals and adult’s meals all different strengths of spice, as well as our drink order. It seemed complicated to me but the counter staff seemed to deal with it very easily.
Our drinks and starters were given to me immediately and a member of staff helped me carry the items back to the table.
15 minutes later our main meals were brought to the table – perfect timing as we had just finished our starters. Although a complex order, our food was just how I had ordered and tasted delicious! All the food is cooked from fresh produce and there are lots of vegetable options in order for your meal to be nutritionally balanced.
Staff were milling around the restaurant if we needed them or any help and a member of staff took our dessert order and returned with slices of cheesecake to die for!
On one of the walls of the restaurant we found a story about the legend of the cockerel contacted to Portugal. I found this really interesting and a very nice authentic touch of the country where the peri-peri chicken originated from. The story can be found here www.cascais-travel.com/barcelos-cockerel.html
I would really recommend a visit to Nando’s. With main courses starting around £7 it is a great priced restaurant full of friendly helpful staff and mouth-watering food options! And if you check out the Nando’s website you can even purchase the marinades and sauces and give some of the dishes a try at home! www.nandos.co.uk/shop
