Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
Reviewed by Emma Baker
The funky packaging makes this product very 'groovy' and the labelling is clear and easy to read. The jar was easy to open and I was met with a faint coconut aroma. The oil doesn't look like your typical runny oil as it is set and is white. It had a honeycomb type look and was hard when touched but melted easily onto my hand when I scooped some out. At first I found it a little difficult to scoop out as the oil is hard and the jar was full to the top, it got easier as the contents went down. This oil is not just for cooking and roasting but can be used surprisingly on the skin and hair if you are brave enough to try it. I used a small amount on my hand and I sunk into my skin with ease and left to residue. My hands were wonderfully soft 'not what I expected from a cooking oil'.
I used some of this oil when I made Sunday lunch and found it gave my roasted parsnips a lovely sheen and they had a delicious taste to the which was not overpowering but added to the flavour.
The product is suitable for vegetarians and vegans, is gluten free but is not suitable for people with nut allergies.
I recommend this product not only as a kitchen item but as a beauty product.
