Pairfum Large Reed Diffuser Bell Review

The Pairfum Reed Diffuser Bell arrived in the post this week, and the first thing I noticed was that it was significantly larger than any of the other diffusers I have in the house. It is very well packaged in a sturdy box, so it struck me as being ideal as a present for someone, both in terms of attractive packaging and the fact that it’s easy to wrap, package or post. The packaging was easy enough to open and the box was secure inside.

The diffuser itself is glass, which I always like. There are 10 wooden diffuser sticks, bound up in a ribbon that has to be removed before using. I found the stopper for the bottle was quite difficult to remove but once removed, it isn’t useful anymore so I just threw it away. It’s easy to set up as well – just untie the sticks and put them in the bottle. There are no specifics of where it should be placed in a room but the literature says that it will fill a large room, so I set mine up in the lounge.

The diffuser flavour was called Innocent Vanilla. It certainly has a vanilla scent to it, and if by ‘innocent’ it means ‘pure’ then the scent was certainly that! There wasn’t a hint of any other essence in there, which is just as well as I like vanilla in the home. Within a day, the scent had been absorbed by the sticks, however, unlike other diffusers, it wasn’t overpowering. The literature says that it will last 6-9 months in the home, but my lounge only has a faint smell of vanilla, not a great deal like with other makes. If you’re expecting this to be like other commercial diffusers, then the fact that it’s non-oil based means that it’s healthier for you, and perhaps that’s where a little of the strength is lost, even though it is eco-friendly.

The Pairfum website has lots of options for different flavours, so it might be worth trying them out. Being non-toxic and non-flammable was definitely a bonus for me as it means I can light my candles near it in the fireplace. The diffuser is definitely an asset to my home, but at £37.50, I did find it a little pricy. Maybe in 6-9 months time I’ll think it will have been worthwhile!
