As my son is an avid Peppa Pig fan we were very excited to go and review Peppa Pig’s Big Splash at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking. I did wonder whether he would be able to sit through the whole show having only just turned two but I needn’t have worried there was plenty to keep him engaged and entertained and he was enthralled from start to finish.

Woking’s New Victoria Theatre is conveniently situated at the top of Woking’s main shopping centre which, once you have navigated the car park, is extremely easy to find. We arrived just before the show started and found our (very comfy) seats with ease.

Lots of little voices screamed with delight as the show opened to a game of hide and seek with Peppa Pig and her friends. Within minutes my son and his cousin were screaming and pointing at the stage, desperate to catch the first glimpse of Peppa! We were impressed that the content of the show seemed to engage a wide age range of children from little toddlers to pre-schoolers.

From jumping to clapping, singing to dancing, all the way through there were lots and lots of opportunities for little people to participate in the fun. The show was narrated by a brilliant actress who held the story together wonderfully and the other cast members controlled the character puppets. We saw George loose his dinosaur and we all had to jump up and down to reunite him with it, my son was extremely excited when he saw it fall down from the tree where it was stuck and I think he actually believed he had helped. It’s great to see little imaginations being fuelled. We played piggy in the middle with Peppa and friends, went to a funfair, met some singing fruit and vegetables and took part in the muddle puddle championships. There was a tone of disbelief from lots of little people when they were squirted with actual water as they jumped up and down pretending to splash in puddles with Daddy Pig – fun and laughter echoed around the theatre.

All in all, 1hr 15 minutes of screams, giggles and excitement was enjoyed by all, young and old. We would recommend without a doubt for all Peppa Pig fans!
