I was asked if I would like to review a personalised Father Christmas letter to my child. I thought this would be a lovely idea because he’s currently 10 and I expect this to be his last year of enjoying the magic in quite the same way again!
I had to reply with my sons name, age, address and friend so it could be added to the letter. When it arrived via the post the envelope was stamped from the North Pole and addressed to my son. I couldn’t wait to give it to him when he arrived home from school.
As I gave him the letter he read what was on the envelope clearly showing it was from Santa and a grin appeared on his face. As he opened it I was excited for him and teased him asking ‘I wonder if you are on the good list’.
He began to read the letter, which was typed on decorated Christmas paper showing Santa sitting in front of his fireplace reading a very long list. It mentioned where he lived and how Santa would be flying over our town (named) to deliver presents to him and his friend (both named), how he had been trying his best this year and how Santa was working very hard to get him the present he really wanted this Christmas. The reindeers and Mrs Claus are all mentioned plus the elves being so busy they deserve a well earned break after Christmas.
My son wanted me to re-read the letter to him and the look of awe on his face was priceless. Things like this letter make Christmas very special and continue to prolong the magic of Christmas. My son said he is going to try and stay awake this year to meet Santa in person!!
