Pretend To Bee Fox Dressing Up Set Review

Reviewed by David Savage

All children love dressing up, and that includes the twin boys in our house. They already have a number of pirate costumes, Frankenstein and a variety of animal costumes (cow, sheep, elephant etc.) and were delighted when the Fox Dressing Up Set from Pretend To Bee (even though they still say they are a dog when they are wearing it).

Pretend To Bee are a family run small business and have been in the dressing up costumes business since 2005, so do have quite a bit of experience in children’s dressing up. Their costumes are well made, using durable fabrics and easy to wear, designed with large openings, elasticated waists and Velcro fastenings. Their range covers children from 3-11 years old.

We received a 2-piece Fox Dressing Up Set consisting of a headband and tail in plush fabric (100% polyester). This set fits children aged 3-7 years old and I would say that is pretty accurate.

The headband features fox ears on top and the fox nose comes down the from and fits over the child’s nose.

The tail is on a Velcro strap that with quite a large fastening than fits around the waist and is a large bushy fox tail with a white tip. This is held onto the waistband with Velcro so if pulled will detach and want damage it, a great idea.

Both pieces are easy to put on and wear (I have tried the headband, and while small for an adult head, it is very comfortable with no sharp or hard edges).

Overall, this is a very good quality set, especially compared to some of their cheaper costumes (some of the cheaper costumes have started to come away at the seams from use). It is very well made, and the stitching is strong (it has to be to withstand the constant putting on and pulling off of the boys). They both enjoy wearing it during pretend play.

This is the first costume we have tried from Pretend To Bee and would definitely buy from them again. While not the cheapest, they are not overly expensive, and you certainly see and feel the difference in quality that means the slight price difference is worth it.

If your children like dressing up, then you can’t go wrong with Pretend To Bee. With Christmas coming up, a dressing up costume would make a good gift.
