The Red Leaf Restaurant is situated within The Alea Casino at Springfield Quay in Glasgow. We travelled by train then subway as neither my fiancé or I drive. If you do drive there is ample parking available within the Quay for anyone wishing to use it, if not it’s a lovely stroll from Central station and the SECC.
We were greeted by a lovely man at reception who gave us the option to wait in the bar before our meal.
The lovely Suzie then showed us to our table at the window overlooking the River Clyde and offered us drinks while we looked at the menu. The restaurant was very welcoming, immaculate and very nicely decorated. We chose our meals and enjoyed a lovely glass of wine while we waited.
For our meal we had the following:
Haggis bon bon’s – Very tasty, the mustard dressing was excellent. The bon bons were crisp on the outside and meaty on the inside. Side salad had a satisfying crunch and excellent dressing.
Confit Duck and Chicken Liver Terrine – This was a perfect portion size and was so smooth and tasted amazing, it was served with warm toasted brioche and apple chutney.
Soy and Ginger Roasted Pork Loin – Succulent pork cooked to perfection. The mash was nice, the squash puree was very flavourful.
Roasted Farmhouse Chicken Supreme – A beautiful tender chicken breast set on new potatoes and chunky spring vegetables with baby onions.
Iced Crannachan Parfait – Sweet and creamy, the berries were perfectly ripe the crannachan itself was just heaven.
Dark and White Chocolate Marble – A beautiful slice of dark and white chocolate mousse with a biscuit base served with Morello cherries.
Our waitress for the evening was Katie and she was so lovely and helped make our meal very enjoyable. Overall this was a flawless meal, very well presented. Portion size on the main was a bit on the small side but just right on the starter and dessert.
Would give the restaurant 5/5 could not recommend it enough and looking forward to going back.
