We were all excited to get Revell Hover Disc in the post. The toy looked very unusual and mysterious. Not the easiest to get out, but after struggling for about 5 minutes, it was rescued from the box – just to find out it did not come with any batteries. The batteries compartment is very secure, so much so, I would say it is not the easiest to get in, especially considering batteries only last about an hour.

Despite first hurdles, the Hover Disc is a lot of fun! The box comes with a few pictures to suggest how to play with it. Once it is turned on, it lights up and creates an air cushion and glides over the ground. I have to warn you, when it glides, it has a mind of its own, so you can never predict, which way it would go. Even just watching the disc is very fascinating. After being the center of the attention (and jealousy) of the whole neighborhood for the whole weekend, we ended up in the house just turning it on and making bets where the disc would go in the house. A very good and sturdy product!

The only two things I would pass onto the manufacturers are – the disc could do with a handle (like a curling stone) and the battery compartment could be easier to open and shut as batteries don’t last that long. But overall it’s a great toy, suitable for different ages. No doubt we will have lots of quality family time with it over the summer holidays!

I recommend it as a novelty present and a good family entertainment device.
