When I discovered that Ross Noble was performing his one man stand-up comedy show Tangentleman at the Lowry Theatre in Salford, Manchester, I was determined to get tickets for me and my husband to see him. I am a very big fan of Ross Noble’s and knew that we would be in for an amazing evening.
The Lowry is a modern building with views of Salford Quays. It is very easily accessible with good transport links with both buses and the metro link nearby. We parked in the multi-storey carpark and walked the short distance to the theatre.
On arrival, we collected our tickets from a helpful member of staff and were directed to our comfortable seats in the spacious Lyric Theatre.
The packed audience eagerly awaited the comedian’s entrance and when Ross exuberantly bounded onto the stage, he was greeted with whoops and cheers. We then spent the next two and a half hours crying with laughter, being entertained by the most surreal, oddball comedian I have ever seen. The show felt very improvised without any written script, just Ross interacting with the audience and discussing the most random zany topics he could think of. When he did his crazy impersonation of Neil Oliver, using his feet to read a script written in braille on the ground, I laughed so much that I ached all over. He had a fantastic rapport with his audience and used them as material for most of his act. I also admired the fact that all the money raised from the sale of his promotional material was being donated to charity.
This is a must see show and Ross is a very talented, extremely funny entertainer.
Tickets cost £27 (includes £2 booking fee).
Ross Noble and his Tangentleman tour is at The Lowry until 21 February 2015. For more information or to book tickets click here or call the box office on 0843 208 6000.
