Having two girls in the house I knew that this Soap Factory kit from Science4you would be received well and I wasn’t wrong!
The kit soon arrived well packaged and as it arrived when they were at school it gave me a chance to read through the information booklet and catalogue enclosed with the kit.
Upon opening I was immediately taken with the lovely fruity scent coming from the box and had a good look at each item and studied how to make the soaps and different colours etc…
The information booklet is jam packed with great ideas for colours, scents, history and much more and I keenly awaited the girl’s arrival home so we could start making!
The kit contains everything you need including gloves and protective goggles which came in useful when they youngest shook the colour test tube a little too keenly and ended up a delightful shade of magenta!
The kit contained…
Protective Goggle, Protective Gloves, Magenta, Cyan and Yellow Food Colouring Powders, Pipettes, Spatulas, 3 Differently Shaped Moulds, 2 Small Jars of Glitter, Test Tubes, Soap Base, 2 Fragrances, Ribbons and Plastic Film.
As you can see you get a lot for your money and a lot of soap can be made from one kit.
Soon enough the girls arrived home and were delighted with the kit!
Next we chopped the soap base into small pieces and placed them into a microwaveable mug and heated them for 20 seconds to liquidise the base.
Our next step was using the pipettes to add drops of colour, glitter for a sparkly effect and finally a fragrance. We chose Apple for our first and then we mixed it all together and poured it into our mould.
We forgot to use the ribbons included (oops) but our creation looked perfect and whilst we waited for it to cool and set we went on to make more soap in different colours and scents.
Both girls were extremely happy with their creations.
The only problem now is neither want to use their pretty soaps as they love them!
We made 6 good sized bars from the kit and they look and smell lovely!
This is a wonderful kit and I will be looking for more from Science4you in time for Christmas as the catalogue is packed with ideas and other wonderful looking kits!
Excellent value for money.
