How excited we were when my sister and I found out we were to be going to this ?……….VERY !
Both being massive grease fans we couldn't of been happier at being invited to join in with the sing along on Sunday night. Dressed in out attire we set of like two excited schoolgirls looking forward to it, we wondered if we would be the only ones in fancy dress, but as we pulled up outside the theatre it was a mass of pink ladies, T birds, teen angels, Sandra Dees, Vince Fontaines and Rizzos. Everybody look fabulous and I knew we were in for a good night.
We found our seats, on each one there was a goody bag with bits and pieces in relevant to the film. We sat down and settled in, not for long though as the host for the evening bounced on to the stage (also dressed in rock n roll gear) and had us up on our feet straightaway.
Firstly there was a fancy dress competition, we didn't enter ourselves but there were some great creations and we enjoyed looking at them, then the compere taught us to hand jive and a few other moves we could use during the screening. She also told us when to heckle, cheer etc… but I think most of us there were seasoned fans and had it off to a tee!
As the film began everybody got to their feet again and the fun began, the film is subtitled, but I don't think many would need to use this added extra.
We danced and sang along to all the famous songs including Summer Nights, You’re The One That I Want, Sandy, Greased Lightning, We Go Together and the theme tune Grease (is the word). Along with every other member of the audience, and I do mean everyone, from young children up all were having the time of our lives, oops wrong film!
The evening went far too fast as we were enjoying it so much, and the atmosphere was electric. We were sad when the end of the film came. It really was a brilliant night and we agreed we would go every week if we could. Two very happy ladies with achy knees from dancing left smiling.
A fab night 5/5 would give it more if I could.
