We arrived at the Lowry Theatre in Salford Quays just as the show was due to commence, we quickly picked up our tickets and headed to our seats. The friendly usher located where we were sitting to be greeted with someone sat in our chairs. She dealt with the situation fantastic and suggested to them that they could move to alternative seating during the interval if there were any spare seats available (as the lady had a broken foot). The family were fine with this so we took to our seats just as the funny looking clown came to the stage.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from Slava’s Snowshow. I had watched some clips on YouTube and got the general gist that it was a clown act with snow. What I didn’t expect was how funny it would be. I have never seen a clown show in real life so it was a great experience and I am terribly regretful that my 4 year old daughter could not make the show (it was past her bedtime), she would have absolutely loved it.
The theatre was packed out with an audience with ages ranging from around 4 and up. I really enjoyed how interactive the show was. During the interval the green clowns came out into the audience wetting everyone and climbing over the chairs. They also had a competition on who could get the audience to cheer more. This was a great hit and had everyone in hysterics laughing.
The show itself was easy to follow and very entertaining. There was a brilliant mix of vibrant colour and enchanting music. I particularly enjoyed the effects with the spider’s web and the giant balls which were thrown into the audience. You will have to go and see the show to know what I am talking about but it was truly intriguing and spectacular.
Overall we had a fantastic night and were left spellbound and all laughed out. The audience were totally engaged with the tremendous actors playing the clowns. I would love to return with my daughter next time Slava is in town.
Tickets cost from £18 to £37 (includes £2 booking fee).
