Pram and Buggy Blackout Blind
This is a great product for helping your child get to sleep during the day.
When I was asked to try this blackout blind I was a bit dubious as I didn’t like the idea of covering my child with a cloth so I couldn’t see her and was worried about the overheating aspect, but this SnoozeShade works a treat.
On opening the packet I found that it came with great easy to understand safety and fitting instructions. It comes supplied in a mesh bag so you can put the cover away when you are not using it. It has a drawstring with toggle to tighten the bag and has Velcro tabs so that you can attach it to the buggy, a great space idea. It is black in colour with a florescent (high visibility) trim and Velcro straps so looks good too.
It is very easy to fit and goes on in seconds by using Velcro straps to attach to the frame of the buggy (it is a universal size so should fit most hooded buggies). It is a very light, porous and breathable material. It covered the front of my buggy giving my child a completely dark environment in which to sleep and helped her get off to sleep quicker and I found that she even slept for longer. It also has a nice convenient zipper on the front making it very easy to check whether she was still sleeping and OK. I also found that the temperature inside the buggy when this was attached was slightly cooler than outside so that took away my worries about overheating. As it is black in colour it is good for blocking the sun, but while cooler with the shade on you still have to use common sense and check regularly that your child is OK and hydrated.
This is a must have item for all parents with pushchairs and prams and now with the weather getting better mine will definitely be getting a lot more use.
I tried the single version one but it is also available for car seats, twin buggies and cots and at just £19.99 is excellent value for money.
