SoundPEATS Q30 Bluetooth Earphones Review

Reviewed by David Savage

I often use my tablet to watch films on Netflix and regularly use wired earphones. With wired headphones/earphones you are generally limited to a cable length of between 1-2 metres. So when I was asked to try out the SoundPEATS Q30 wireless Bluetooth earphones I was interested to see just how good they are.

The SoundPEATS Q30 Wireless Earphones are comfortable fitting earphones with wingtips (ear fins) so they stay in your ear and they are supplied with ear fins and ear tips in small, medium and large sizes so will fit everybody and are interchangeable.

In the box there is:

1x SoundPEATS Q30 Bluetooth Headset
3x Slide Line Buckle
1x Line Clamp
1x Leather Bag
10x Interchangeable Ear Tips
6x Interchangeable Ear Fins
1x USB Charging Cable
1x User Manual

They are wireless Bluetooth earphones but have a short wire to each ear bud that goes around the back of your neck when the earphones are in. On the cable is also controls for volume up/down, next/previous track and a multifunction button and also features a microphone (handy if using with your phone and still want to be able to make and receive calls).

Charging takes approx. 1½ hours and gives around 8 hours usage (up to 100 hours on standby). Charging is simple; using the supplied USB cable you plug it in to the volume control on the cable of the earphones and plug the other end in to an active computer USB port. The LED will be red while charging, turning blue when complete.

Pairing is quite simple (I have paired on Android phone, tablet and iPad). Turn the Bluetooth on your phone or tablet, turn on the earphones (hold the multifunction button until you hear “power on”. Your device should then find Q30 and you can select it to pair the two together – you should then hear “your headset is connected” and the LED should be a solid blue.

When using, I found the earphones to be very comfortable and the sound very clear. Because of the ear fins, the earphones stayed put in my ears. The Bluetooth has a range of 10m (33ft) so no signal loss between my phone or tablet.

Overall, I think these earphones are fantastic. I usually have trouble with earphones staying in, especially if they have ear tips rather than a solid piece, but the ear fins solve that problem and are very comfortable. The sound is perfect, clear with no distortion. With 7-8 hours usage (depending on volume level) off one charge it lasts for everything I use it without the need to charge inbetween. With a RRP of £39.99 but currently selling for under £20, they are excellent value for money.

Comfortable, great sound and long battery life.
