Sweet Revenge The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell by Tom Bower Review

Reviewed by Louisa Nashir

Simon Cowell one of television’s most ‘love to hate’ characters opened his doors to ex-BBC reporter Tom Bower and allowed him to follow the highs and lows of his everyday life for this sensational no holds barred book.

The book is filled with stories of Simon’s career, relationships, break ups and what he does when not working.

Simon’s relationship with ex X-Factor judge Dannii Minogue recently dominated the British tabloids and such a scandal was made of it but reading this book you soon realise the papers blew it up into this huge shocking story when really it was 2 people who enjoyed each other’s company.

Simon is often slated for his ‘Mr Nasty’ role on shows like the X-Factor and Britain’s Got Talent but in reality he just wants the best and plus it draws viewers in.

The book contains a lot of personal photographs of Simon which until now I hadn’t seen before and a lot show him relaxed when not working and away from the media.

Simon is the Marmite of British TV you either love him or hate him.

This is one of the best books I have read and I now think very different of Simon Cowell, he is no longer the nasty, ruthless judge he is a hardworking individual with a strong work ethic.

A fabulous book which is well worth a read.
