I have enjoyed a lovely meal at the George and Dragon Pub in Marlow. It’s conveniently located near the River Thames and opposite a popular family park. Parking is available for 2 hours in front of the pub, or alternatively near the park in a pay and display car park (£3 for 6 hours parking).

This pub has recently changed ownership and is connected to the Premier Inn next door. You can use the automatic Premier Inn doors if you are arriving with a pram as the pubs own doors are very narrow and you would have to overcome some steps.

Staff has been very helpful in finding us a spot for 3 babies – both quiet yet accessible with a pram, and offered to supply bottle warmers which definitely gave them a 5/5 for being family friendly. They also have a vast supply of high chairs for older children. Scoring 5/5.

Food ranges for main courses from £4.99 – £15.99 for their top fillet steak and you will have a choice of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, including some fantastic non-alcoholic cocktails. Everything arrived swiftly and tasted lovely. Our personal favourites however were the desserts. The Profiteroles were simply superb. Score 4.5/5 – as the sirloin steak was not the best for its price.

Baby changing facilities can be found in the ladies WC. I found them to be clean, spacious and bright, again 5/5.

Marlow offers a variety of shopping and parks and walks to its visitors. Once you have filled your belly, why not stroll through the park by the Thames, enjoy the playground and make it a whole day out? Alternatively enjoy the shops that are within minutes reach.
