Christmas Signature Gift Set Cocktails Review

So, who doesn’t love a little tipple at Christmas? I know I sure do, so when I received The Seasonal Gift Set to review from The Bottle Bar and Shop Company I was very excited to give them a try and to see what delights where in store for me.

The set is a selection of their finest handcrafted cocktails which includes 3 10cl bottled cocktail and you can choose from the following 4 flavours:- Christmas In A Bottle, Twisted Old Fashioned, Negroni or Damson Gin Liqueur. The cocktails I was sent for the purpose of this review were the following:-

Christmas In a Bottle which has been infused for several weeks with festive spices, with notes of orange, cinnamon and cardamom in the cocktail which makes it taste just like Christmas in a bottle, this is a mixture of festive spices, vodka, bitters they recommend that you serve 100ml over ice (or serve neat) with a slice of orange.

Twisted Old Fashioned which is an old-time favourite, the Old-Fashioned cocktail is one of the world’s best-known cocktails for good reason. It oozes class and is often quoted as the top digestif or post dinner drink. Its’ hint of sweetness makes it perhaps easier (and possibly more common) to drink than other whiskey-based cocktails. They have livened up this classic cocktail by adding a splash of vermouth and used orange bitters as well as angostura. They have also replaced the sugar used in the original recipe with maple syrup to give it an extra smooth finish. This is a mixture of Bourbon, vermouth, bitters, maple syrup with a serving suggestion of 100ml over ice with a slice of orange.

Negroni which is The Bottle Bar and Shop Companies take on a gorgeous and iconic Italian cocktail. Their Negroni has been infused with orange and pink grapefruit zest for several weeks to give it a perfect balance of flavours and just the right amount of bitterness. Beautiful as a chilled aperitif, it can also be topped up with some bubbles (champagne and lemonade) to produce a delicious ‘spritz’ drink. Which is a mixture of Campari, London dry gin, vermouth, bitters they recommend serving it as follows: pour 100ml over ice with a slice of orange.

The 3 cocktails came packaged neatly in a little cardboard box with The Bottle Bar and Shop Companies logo stamped on the top which I really liked It felt authentic, with the no frills packing just rustic and handmade which lends itself to the nature of how the cocktails are made.

One thing that The Bottle Bar and Shop Company pride themselves on is that there are no artificial flavours in their bottles – their cocktails are made from natural ingredients only and I have to say they all tasted amazing and would make a lovely gift for someone under their tree this year or for yourself to have over the Christmas period, and if these flavours don’t rock your boat then there are plenty others drinks to choose from on their website although I’m not sure I fancy trying the Horseradish and Wasabi Vodka….
