As a fan of The Carpenters, I was really looking forward to seeing this show.

I had never been to St George’s Hall in Bradford before but found it easily using the website directions. Plenty of parking around the Hall from pay and display behind hall to multi storey opposite so had no issues finding a car parking space. The Bus and Train stations are both also within walking distance of St George’s.  Once inside, staff were so helpful and friendly from showing you where to collect tickets to assisting you to your seats. They were plenty of toilets inside hall and two bars with lots of staff on, so no queueing for drinks or snacks. We were seated in row M and it had great views of the stage.

The show started with a giant screen at the back of stage showing a fictional DJ from ‘Eagle FM’ talking about the Carpenters and introducing their first song. This ‘DJ’ then came on throughout the show telling you bits of information about the Carpenters life and songs. When he wasn’t on, the screen showed videos and pictures of The Carpenters.

The show is a collection of The Carpenters hits and were performed by a fantastic singer, Claire Furley, who was backed up by an amazing live band. You forget how many songs The Carpenters had and the audience were soon joining in, clapping and singing along. The cast encouraged this and engaged with audience many times throughout the show. For the finale, they did a melody of Carpenters songs which had the audience on their feet.

All in all, a fantastic show and a must for all Carpenters fans.
