It’s British Sandwich Week from 17-35 May 2020. When it comes to making the ultimate sizzling hot sandwich (or SPAM®wich!), there’s one iconic cupboard staple that makes the perfect filling for every sandwich style, from toasties and tortillas to bagels and baguettes.

Made from a minimum of 90% shoulder pork and leg ham, SPAM® Chopped Pork and Ham is quick and easy to prepare, and so versatile it can be grilled or fried to make a variety of tasty and convenient sandwiches. Fry and sizzle to create a chunky SPAM® Steak Baguette or grill to build a satisfying SPAM® Club Sandwich.

Here’s an amazing fact you may not know about the humble SPAM® Sandwich…

The ‘Sandwich Islands’ was the name given to the Hawaiian Islands by James Cook in the 1770s.  He named them after John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich, who invented the sandwich after placing a piece of meat between two slices of bread.  Coincidently, Hawaiians go crazy for SPAM® Products in Aloha State, more than seven million SPAM® Products are sold per year and Hawaii hosts its biggest biggest festival – the annual SPAM JAM® festival which takes place in Honolulu every April.

SPAM® Chopped Pork and Ham and bread make the perfect pair, so why not bring them together and make some tasty snacks this British Sandwich Week.

Try these delicious hot sarnies, which make the perfect snack at any time of day:
