This fantastic book follows the characters Julia and Arietty who are 2 young women who have never met but share a passion for a very special dress which is for sale in Julia's sister Pandora's shop.

Julia was a loved up with Ed until he broke up with her after she revealed she had kissed his brother years ago. Julia believes Ed will forgive her and they will soon be back together but gets a shock when she receives a wedding invitation from Ed and his fiancée Louise who happens to be Julia's best friend!

Julia decides to go to the wedding as she wants Ed to see what he is missing but with her career nose-diving and her owing her parents money she cannot afford the beautiful dress in her sister’s shop.

Arietty didn't have the best years at school so when she receives an invite to a school reunion she cannot think of anything worse she would rather do. Whilst out Arietty visits Pandora's shop and meets Julia.

Both ladies idolise the dress and begin to plan how they could afford it, The Shoestring Club is then set up but they girls need more people in the club to buy in on the dress so they can all wear it to the life changing events they have been invited to.

A fab little read which engulfed me!

Highly recommended!
