My husband and I we lucky enough to go see Thriller Live at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall. It was an amazing night. We are huge fans of Michael Jackson’s songs and have loads of his albums. I have also seen him live in 1997 during the HIStory tour so as you can imagine we were really excited to see what Thriller Live had to offer.
Thriller live is essentially a showcase of Michael Jackson’s greatest hits and a bit of a tribute to his work. It had a cast of some pretty amazing singers, a great band and some phenomenal dancers.
The hits were not limited to just his solo career but there were some Jackson 5 hits too which were great to hear.
In between the songs was the occasional chat about Michael life and certain albums he had. Admittedly there wasn’t a lot of the chat sketches but that didn’t matter because ultimately you were there for the music and the dancing and they certainly delivered on that.
The choreography was incredible with back flips, synchronised routines and I couldn’t fault a single thing. The timing of the dancers was spot on and they all looked like they were enjoying themselves. I was a little concerned that the show could feel a little karaoke, but I needn’t have worried, the singers all had great voices. They did all the songs justice and thoroughly deserved all the applause they got from the audience.
Tickets cost from £18 to £35 (booking fees may apply).
