GameTale: The Big Adventure of the Little Gremlin Review

Reviewed by David Savage

This GameTale book is a children’s storybook (for children aged 3-9, although I enjoyed it along with 4 year old twins) but with a twist; it gives the reader the option to choose the path of the story giving different versions to the story and with different endings.

The Big Adventure of the Little Gremlin by Nikola Raykov is about a little gremlin, who everyone calls Gremmy, that lives in a hole in the ground. When the seasons start to change and his food supply will be running out over Winter he decides to pack up and go off on an adventure.

With approximately 100 ways to read this story and 20 different endings, the book can be read many times over with different story ending and different outcomes. The reader makes the choice and helps spark the imagination.

To accompany the story, the illustrations and wonderful – bright and bold and really jump out off the page. They help tell the story vocalically.

The GameTale book is a wonderful book that will spark children’s imaginations and put them in control of the story. With so many different paths and outcomes through the book it is definitely a book that can be read over and over again without becoming boring or predictable.

Rating: 5/5
